Roofing website design built to turn a worried homeowner into a booked estimate

Good roofing website design puts the proof in front of a homeowner before they scroll to the fold: real project photos, the specific service they searched for, and a request form that asks for an address instead of a paragraph.

Design decisions we make differently for roofing

A roofing site is judged in seconds by someone standing outside with a phone, often after a storm. The layout leads with the proof that matters most in that moment: a before-and-after photo, the roof types you work on, and a request path that takes under a minute. We do not open with a stock photo of a generic house or a paragraph of mission-statement copy, because neither answers the question the visitor actually has.

  • Before and after project photos placed high on the page, not buried in a gallery link
  • Layout built around your actual service area, not a generic "we serve everyone" claim
  • One clear estimate request path repeated at the points where someone is ready to act
What a worried homeowner sees first, with Thatcher the stork mascot pointing at a phone: 1 before and after photos, up high; 2 your real service area; 3 one clear estimate path

Color, type and layout choices that read as a real business

Design for a trade business has to read as established and careful with money, since that same care implies careful workmanship. We pick one accent color and one type pairing for the whole site rather than a different look on every page, use real geometry instead of stock icon packs, and keep the layout legible in direct sunlight on a phone screen, which is where a large share of roofing searches actually happen.

What makes a roofing design different from a generic contractor template

A generic contractor template treats roofing the same as landscaping or plumbing: one hero, three feature cards, a contact form. Roofing buyers care about specific things a generic template never surfaces: which roof systems you install, whether you handle insurance claims, and what a finished job from your crew actually looks like. The design is built around those specifics rather than a one-size-fits-all trade site shell.

What an owner said after this part was fixed

Answer: the change owners notice first is not the design, it is that the site starts producing inquiries they can act on.

Honestly, the redesign was nice, but the inquiry form is what changed our day-to-day. It collects property location, visible concern and access availability up front, so the back-and-forth we used to do by reply has largely gone. We answer properly on the first reply far more often than we used to.

Questions about roofing website design

How long does the design take?

Your plan sets the launch window: 7, 10 or 15 working days from the onboarding call depending on the tier. Design and build happen inside that window, and nothing goes live until you have reviewed it.

What do you need from us to design it?

Your logo and brand colors if you have them, your list of towns and services, the roof systems you install, any license or insurance details you want published, and job photos when you have them. The onboarding form takes about 15 minutes.

Do you design for dark mode and for bright sunlight?

Yes to both, and the second one matters more in roofing. The site is checked in light and dark, and the type and contrast are set so the page is readable on a phone held outside at midday.

Can we change the design later?

Yes. Colors, layout changes, new sections and new pages are all revisions, included every month and completed within the standard turnaround. A design that cannot change is a poster.

Is the design mobile first?

It is built and checked from 320px upward, because most roofing traffic arrives on a phone. Tap targets clear 44px, forms use 16px inputs so nothing zooms unexpectedly, and no section scrolls sideways.

Do you design the site around our existing logo and brand colors?

Yes. Send your logo and any brand colors during onboarding and we build the design around them. If you do not have brand colors set, we recommend a palette during the onboarding call and confirm it with you before building.

How many pages does the design cover?

The design system covers every page type your plan includes: home, about, service pages, one page per town you serve, a gallery, and your estimate request flow, all built from the same design language.

Can we see the design before it goes live?

Yes. You review the built site before launch and request changes as revisions; nothing goes live until you have approved it.

Do you use website builder templates or page builder plugins?

No. Every page is custom coded rather than assembled from a page builder or a purchased template, which is part of why the site stays fast and does not accumulate the bloat those tools tend to add over time.
