a roofing marketing agency compared

A roofing marketing agency or a managed website service: which gap are you actually filling?

If your problem is that nobody knows you exist and you are ready to spend on ads, a roofing marketing agency is the right call: campaign strategy, ad spend management, tracking and creative are their job and they are not ours. If your problem is that the website is slow, thin, out of date and impossible to change, that is what we fix. The mistake we see is roofing companies paying an agency retainer to drive traffic at a website nobody has improved in three years.

The short version

Agencies run campaigns and budgets. We build and run the website underneath them. Most roofing companies need one of the two, and some need both.

What an agency retainer usually covers, and what it usually does not

A typical roofing marketing retainer covers ad management, some SEO work, maybe social and reporting. The website is often treated as a fixed asset: they will ask for landing pages and tweaks, and either a subcontractor builds them or you are told to speak to whoever built your site. Nobody is wrong here, it is just how the model is drawn. The result is that website changes are slow, and website quality quietly caps the return on the campaign spend.

We do not run your ads, and that is deliberate

These plans do not include managing Google Ads, Meta campaigns or ad budgets. We build, host, maintain and write the website, including the pages an ad campaign lands on. If you want somebody to own the media buying, hire an agency for it, and let them point their traffic at a site that is actually built to convert it.

Where the money goes, compared

An agency retainer is usually a management fee plus the ad spend itself, and the spend is where most of the money goes. A managed website plan is $127 a month plus a $697 build fee after launch, and it produces an asset that keeps working when you pause spending. For a roofing company with a modest budget, fixing the site first usually makes every later dollar of ad spend work harder, because the landing page is part of what the auction prices.

Change requests: the difference you will feel monthly

With us, a change is a revision: 5 a month of any size, completed within 2 to 5 working days, with no hourly billing and no quote. That is worth more to a roofing company than it sounds, because the changes that matter most, a storm banner, a new town, a new set of photos, are the ones that are always urgent and always small.

Line by line, with nothing hidden

The same twelve dimensions on every comparison page, so you can hold two of them side by side. Where a competitor answer says "varies" or "depends", that is the honest answer rather than a dig.

When each one is the right answer

When a marketing agency is the right call

  • You have a real ad budget and want somebody accountable for how it is spent.
  • You need campaign strategy, creative and media buying, which we do not offer.
  • You want one team owning lead generation across several channels at once.
  • Your website is already fast, deep and current, and traffic is the missing piece.

When the managed website is the right call

  • The site is the bottleneck: slow, thin, hard to change, and quietly wasting the traffic you already have.
  • You want organic visibility in every town you serve rather than renting clicks forever.
  • You want predictable cost with no minimum term negotiation and no ad spend attached.
  • You want the people who build the site to be the people who write and maintain it.

Not either or

Running both, sensibly

This is a common arrangement. The agency owns the campaigns, the budgets and the reporting. We own the website the campaigns point at, including landing pages built as revisions. Leads from the site route into whatever CRM the agency reports from, so nobody is arguing about attribution.

  • Campaign landing pages built on the site as ordinary revisions.
  • Leads routed into the CRM the agency already reports from.
  • A faster, more relevant landing page is also the part of ad quality that is inside anyone's control.

The morning after the last hail storm we had the storm banner up before we opened the shop. The form went from a paragraph to an address and a phone number, which is all anyone standing under a tarp wants to type.

Questions about a roofing marketing agency and this build

Do you manage Google Ads or Meta campaigns?

No. We build, host, write and maintain the website. Media buying and campaign management are an agency's job, and we would rather say that plainly than sell you something we do not do.

Can I use you alongside my current agency?

Yes, and many clients do. We handle the site and they handle campaigns; leads route into whichever CRM they report from.

My agency built my site. Can you take it over?

Usually yes. We review what exists, rebuild it on our stack and redirect every old URL. We ask for access properly rather than working around them.

Is this cheaper than an agency retainer?

The monthly fee is usually lower than a full retainer, but it buys a different thing. We are not a replacement for campaign management, and an agency is not a replacement for a maintained website.

Who owns the content you write?

You do, and you can ask us to change or remove any article at any time. Your domain is registered in your name from day one.

Do you do SEO, or is that the agency's job?

The SEO built into the site is ours: page architecture, technical work, schema, internal links and weekly content. Off-site work such as link outreach and paid campaigns is not part of these plans.

Is there a minimum term?

No. Billing is monthly and you can cancel by email with the notice set out in our terms.

How do you report on results?

The site is built so your analytics and your CRM tell you the truth about where leads came from. We do not produce a monthly campaign report, because we are not running campaigns.
